Last year, Tweite’s completely redesigned the School Tour program to allow for more personalized learning for each school and more fun for the children. This program was featured in the NAFDMA Celebrate Excellence competition in which we were again awarded for our planning and achievement.
Our peers were impressed with how we have worked with our local educators to provide a program that suits their needs. They also liked how we had a licensed teacher who was able to write curricula for our schools to use in preparation for their field trip and as a review for their visit. Our unique school tour program allows the Pumpkin Patch experience to begin before the children arrive and continue after they leave.
We have been honored to work with such wonderful educators and desire to create the most enjoyable farm learning experience they can imagine. Together we can work to make the children’s visits educational and memorable.
As was mentioned last time, Tweite’s Pumpkin Patch was a finalist in many awards offered at this year’s NAFDMA conference Celebrate Excellence competition. One of those areas was in the area of web site design.
Our website is packed full of information in an easy to navigate format. Everything you need to know about our farm can be found on the website. Great pictures illustrate the offerings for your family during your visit. Detailed hours and admissions information can be found along with directions to our farm. You can find out how to win free Adventure Passes to the farm and even interact with us through our links to our Twitter page, Facebook page, and our blog. For you business, school, or organization, we offer many opportunities to hold events, enjoy a fall day on the farm, or even learn a bit about farming.
Take a few minutes to tour our website and let us know how we can make your experience better.
The farm gets pretty busy in the fall and we couldn’t do it without our joyful employees. Many come to help on the farm looking for a little extra work and end up returning year after year for the friendship and camaraderie. We try to make our employees’ orientation to life on the farm a quick and easy one with our employee handbook.
This handbook was also awarded this winter at the NAFDMA conference for excellence in employee training. We want our employees to be prepared and feel empowered to make our visitors feel welcome and comfortable to enjoy the farm. Our handbook and orientation process equip our employees to serve our guests with the excitement of a satisfied customer. We hope that you can say that not only were the amusements fun at Tweite’s, but the employees made it extra special.

Many of our guests first heard about our farm from seeing our commercial on television. During our offseason, Tweite’s was honored with an award for outstanding Television Commercial. For a few years we have featured live scarecrows, who have often been seen at the farm, in our TV commercials. Last season we invited you to join our family for our 100th season of farming. We desire for your experience at the Pumpkin Patch to bring your family closer together and hope you feel a part of ours.
Another award Tweite’s was honored with this winter was the Celebrate Excellence award in Corn Maze Design. Each year we plant the field and mow a special pattern for the maze which commemorates something significant to the farm. A few years ago we celebrated the 150 year anniversary of the state of Minnesota. The following year we went with the theme from our new Old McGeezer golf course. Last year we celebrated our farm’s 100 year birthday along with the 100 year anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.
We have also partnered with local area businesses and organizations to feature them in our maze. This unique opportunity has allowed us to get to know some great people and organizations in our area. Together, we have been able to work for the success of both parties.
Stay tuned throughout the summer to see what designs and partners we have come up with for this year’s corn maze challenge.
One of the networking opportunities we like to take every once in a while is attending the North American Farm Direct Marketing Association’s (NAFDMA) annual conference. At this gathering, we get to meet with other agritourism farm owners around North America (and often from around the world) to share ideas and offer challenges to help one another improve the customer experience at our farms.
During the conference gathering, agritourism farmers visit one another’s farms to share insights that help improve your Tweite’s Pumpkin Patch visit. Everyone is very open to sharing ideas that will promote the industry and support the family farm experience.
This year we were pleased to come up with many great plans for the next few years. Your favorite pumpkin patch was even honored with awards in the conference’s Celebrate Excellence competitions. Recognition was awarded in areas of maze design, television advertising, employee training, school tours, website design and more.
The quality of our farm is due to our desire to serve you our customer and provide you with a fun family adventure. Your feedback and support encourage us to strive for the best for your family. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again this fall.
Where have the Tweite’s gone? We are still here, but we have been working more behind the scenes since fall came to a close. Last season was a beautiful one. Great weather and many smiling faces. For all of October things didn’t slow down. Then, suddenly the season is over.
Even though the gates close to the public at the end of October, the work continues through the year on the farm and off. Through the cold winter months, while the farm is covered in a large white blanket, we are busy planning for next season and dreaming for seasons beyond.
We like to take the opportunity in the winter and early spring to do some networking with other organizations to find great ideas that our customers would appreciate. Some of our greatest ideas have come at the urging of one of these networking opportunities. This offseason we’ve come up with some fantastic prospects for the coming fall and more.
Beginning very shortly, we plan to keep you updated throughout the year on what is happening in preparation for next season and inform you of opportunities to get involved or even win Adventure Passes. Be sure to follow along, and invite your friends to follow us too on Twitter, Facebook, and right here on our blog.
