Farm Tour: Corn Maze

The greatest of the many Maze Challenges found at Tweite’s Pumpkin Patch is the large Corn Maze. This year’s maze celebrates our 100th birthday along with the Boy Scouts of America. Previous seasons highlighted Minnesota’s 150th anniversary and welcomed McGeezer’s Golf to the farm, but every maze has challenged the greatest of explorers to conquer the corn.
Accessed through Pumpkinville, the corn maze is a series of twisting paths carved into 5 acres of seven foot tall corn stalks; certain to challenge your sense of direction. Look down and see packed dirt; look around and see green everywhere; look up and see blue skies. Keep on walking and if you aren’t out by dinner time we’ll send in the rescue squad.

Farm Tour: Enchanted Forest

The Enchanted Forest is hidden at the back of the farm where creatures from your imagination reside. On your way down, stop and climb up to the large slide and show off your building skills in one of the three giant sandboxes. Stools and tables are available for mom and dad to regain some energy as the kids continue to burn off their endless supply.
Head toward the trees and through the gate into the forest and make your way around the narrow path. Keep your eyes open for the various gnomes, fairies, trolls and wizards. Join in on some of your favorite fairy tales and pick up a few witty jokes along the way.
As you wander along the forest trail you’ll see the entrances to some popular play areas. Another orange maze will help get you turned around even more. The giant Gerbil Cage will help mom and dad get their hands and knees dirty when they try to keep up with the kids. Indiana Bones Dino Dig has the remains of a large dinosaur-like creature that once roamed the patch. His bones are now preserved in the sand pit; a perfect place for kids to climb.
While you play on the dinosaur bones, you will no doubt see the Corn Maze nearby. Find your way out of the Enchanted Forest and back down through Pumpkinville to begin your Corn Maze challenge.

Storm of the Century Farm
What a way to celebrate the farm’s 100 year birthday! Last Thursday’s storm ripped through the area and did a bit of a number on the farm. Nobody was hurt. The pumpkins are okay. But there is quite a bit of clean-up work to do before the farm will be ready for guests this fall. Take a look.

Welcome to Harvest Town!
Perhaps you’ve already been through the western village of Dodge City to take in some of the excitement of the country life, but move on down to Harvest Town and see what the big city life is like at Tweite’s Pumpkin Patch. Here you can climb through the multi-storied city center where many shops are located. You can start your own shop or be the town sheriff or banker. Around town you can find an interactive play area with some educational challenges for young minds and scenes to spark an active imagination.
As you head out back, you will see some great hustle-and-bustle as tractors make their way into town with the harvest, a plane comes flying in from the east and the kids climb through the secret entrance to the tree fort.
In 2008, Harvest Town added a whole new area of excitement for the harvest time visitors. The Back Forty is a wide-open area of massive climbing toys accessible from Harvest Town over the Old Mill Bridge. Stop on the bridge and watch the tractor towing busy travelers by or continue on over the path to the entrance of the Back Forty. Walking down from the bridge the first thing you will notice is the enormous slide tower. Make your way through the Bunny Run maze and climb your way up the three-level tower to take your chances in the 80-foot tube slides.
When you pop up off the giant slide you will be right at the foot of the giant tire mountain – Mount Bugaboo. Make your way to the top to see who can become king of the hill. Be sure to watch out for dangerous caverns and falling boulders! From the top of the mountain you are still
not too far away to see off in the distance the humongous monster truck and three-wheeler. Climb on up into the drivers seat to see what it feels like to be able to drive over anything in your way.
Continuing around the Back Forty will bring you right up to the foot of the Cobra Climb wall. Grab onto the rope and see of you can scale this daunting wall with youthful grit and determination. Once you make it to the top you can slip down the slide and show off your climbing skills again.

Pumpkinville is the most largest open play area at Tweite’s. As you drive down the gravel road towards Tweite’s Farm, you immediately recognize Fort Thomas, Tweite Castle, and the Pirate Ship. It is here where imaginations run wild as kids defend the western frontier, climb to the top of the castle tower to defeat roaming dragons, and sail the seven seas in search of lost treasure.
Pumpkinville also contains two separate trike racing areas that are guaranteed to burn some of that seemingly endless energy and quickly guide the kids to the nearest pit-stop for rest and refueling.
To challenge the young minds, try out the various mazes located in Pumpkinville. The orange fenced maze creates quite the challenge as you find it difficult to navigate the sea of orange. Try to escape from the No-Left-Turn 
Maze without backing up or making right turns. Finding your way through the Number Maze proves to be more difficult than simply counting to six. Keep A, B, and C in proper order and you will have no problem escaping the A-B-C Maze. Most challenging of all, an All-New Corn Maze has been designed to give you much time to wander with nothing surrounding you but 7-foot corn stalks and blue skies above. Celebrating a 100 year birthday with Tweite’s Pumpkin Patch is the Boy Scouts of America, whose logo will be part of the maze challenge.
For a brief break, pull up a bench in the stage area to take in another original puppet show featuring some regular characters and themes from the farm. Enjoy a bit of comedy and music as Mollie and her friends entertain on the Pumpkinville stage.
Finally, try your skill at Old McGeezer’s Golf; a delightful combination of croquet and golf, just the way Old McGeezer would prefer. These six holes are explored with a large rubber ball and a wooden mallet and made more difficult by long, grassy rough areas and hay-bale bunkers. One good stroke and you’ll be hooked.
