See You Next Year

The Pumpkin Patch is now closed for the season.  Thank you to all who shared the beautiful weather with us.  It was a pleasure to see you and your children enjoy good outdoor fun.

Look back periodically throughout the offseason to see what we are working on for next year.  We are looking at expanded hours, additional food items, improvements to existing attractions, and a new, much bigger, much more challenging corn maze.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas!  We’ll see you in 2012.

Your Window of Opportunity is Closing

Today is our last day of the 2011 season!  It is a beautiful fall day with a little bit of wind and sun; temps near 60 degrees.  There are still plenty of pumpkins for you to take advantage of our wheelbarrow special and all kinds of sweet goodies to try in our Concessions Barn.

The farm closes at 5:30 pm.  Because there is so much to do here at Tweite’s, the last ticket is sold at 4:30 pm to allow at least one our of the season.

Thanks for the wonderful year!  Hope to see you again next year.

Closing Day Wheelbarrow Special

Sunday, October 23rd is our last day open this season.  The forecast looks to be another beautiful fall day.  We still have many good pumpkins, gourds, and squash available.

So to celebrate a wonderful season and close things out with a bang, we are offering another wheelbarrow special in our Outdoor Sales and Pumpkin Patch.  Grab yourself a yellow or black wheel barrow when you enter and fill it up with whatever you can find; pumpkins large and small, squash, gourds, ornamental corn, hay, and corn bundles.  Whatever you can wheel out is only $30 in a yellow wheelbarrow and $20 in a black one.  Find the biggest pumpkins you can and load ‘em up.  Everything’s on sale!

What to do with MEA weekend

The kids are out of school this week so their teachers can go to some training.  The weather forecast calls for lots of sun, little wind, and 60 degrees.  What is a family to do with such freedom in October?

Come on out to the farm and enjoy the final days of warmth and sunshine!  We have some delicious snacks featured this weekend in the Concessions barn.  We have plenty of pumpkins lined up for the choosing to decorate your home with just more than a week left before Halloween.  And there are still much fun left to be had with our acres of family fun.

Don’t miss out.  Today, Saturday, and Sunday (October 21-23) are the Farm’s final days of the season.

Final Weekend Featured Flavors

As mentioned earlier this week, this Saturday and Sunday (Oct 22nd and 23rd) are our final days of the season.  We have been blessed with beautiful weather and many smiling friends.  Thank you and your family for joining ours this fall.

For our final weekend our concessions barn is featuring some seasonal fudge and a new caramel apple flavor.  What would a pumpkin patch be without pumpkin flavor treats?  Our fudge has been our most popular concessions item this year (nearly selling us out last weekend), and this weekend we are celebrating our two staple items: pumpkins and fudge!

To go with our array of fudge flavors, we have added four delicious, creamy pumpkin pie flavors: Pumpkin Pie, Turtle Pumpkin Pie (with caramel and pecans), Vanilla Pumpkin Pie, and Pumpkin Pie nut.  Not sure which one is the best?  Stop into the Concessions Barn and sample each one.  Like them all?  Take a square of each home to share with your friends.

Our other favorite treat – which brings people back every weekend for more – is our sweet caramel apples.  Bite into one of these juicy apples covered in chewy caramel and you’ll know why people drive from miles around just to be the first in line for their favorite treat.  To tease your taste buds even more, this weekend we’ve added a Apple Pie flavored caramel apple.  The taste of the caramel apple with the flavor of a crispy apple pie crust will have you longing for the days of summer again.

These flavors are sure to be popular this final weekend.  We only have a limited supply, so be sure to stop in the barn before we run out!

MEA / Final Weekend

This is just a reminder that this week is our final week of the season.  Our last day open is Sunday, October 23.  The farm will be running fully open on Thursday and Friday at our weekend rate for MEA and wrap up with what looks to be a fantastic Saturday and Sunday.

Thus far the forecast looks to be showing a beautiful fall weekend with lots of sunshine and temps reaching for the 60s.  There are still many great pumpkins available to take home with plenty of time to prepare for Halloween.  Join us this weekend to get your last outdoor adventure in before the cold makes its way in for the winter.

That’s What It’s All About

The sun is rising this morning into a beautiful blue sky.  The light is bouncing off the rows of pumpkins and the wind blows the dried fallen leaves across the yard.  This is what the fall season is all about.

The forecast says the sun will continue throughout the day and give us a high of 62 degrees.  These are the days we imagine when we think of a beautiful fall day.

Be sure to wear layers, as it will be cooler to start the day.  You can always remove some layers.

See you soon!  Enjoy this weather.

Just remember that we are only open through October 23rd this year.  This weekend and and next weekend are our last weekends of the season.  If you want guaranteed sun, today looks like a great opportunity.

Rain Well-Needed

We are bummed that our string of summer-like weather had to come to an end and close the farm today.  But the rain was certainly well-needed.

And boy did we get some rain!  It was coming down hard early this afternoon on the farm.  Looking at the radar, it appears that we got the brunt of the storm while Rochester hasn’t yet gotten a drop.

Dried Gourd Art

When you shop around in our Outdoor Sales area, you have plenty of produce to choose from for your fall decorating.  There are pumpkins of many shapes, sizes, and colors.  Ornamental corn and gourds add a different splash of color.  We even have hay bales and corn shocks available for your larger front yard displays.

Have you ever wondered what those ugly looking dried gourds are for?  These are gourds from a few years ago that have been set aside in the shed to dry.  Some people see an ugly brown gourd, while others see a unique canvas for their art.

Check out this website called Groovy Gourds and see what kind of unique things have been done with these simple items.  Try a google search of dried gourd art to find more inspiration.

Do you use our fall produce to create beautiful displays and creative art pieces?  We’d love to see and hear how your imagination works with the fall harvest.

Return of the Weekend Special

Due to great response to our Opening Weekend Special, we are returning this Saturday and Sunday with the same special.

Wander around our Outdoor Sales area and Pumpkin Patch to find any unmarked pumpkin.  All unmarked pumpkins will be only $4.

You may find pumpkins as large as you can carry, but if it is unmarked, it is still only $4.
