School Tours
Grades K-2

We have a fabulous field trip ready for you and your students to enjoy! We have been hosting field trips for 18 years with an emphasis on fun and learning.

A mix of fun, agriculture and outdoor activity make our field trips a perfect out of the classroom learning experience.

  • Presentation that will involve the students in telling how pumpkins grow from a seed to a pumpkin
  • A wagon ride
  • A visit to Storybook Land
  • Grandpa Bob’s Barnyard Buddies (Farm Critters)
  • Visit an observation garden filled with pumpkins and fall crops
  • Pick out a small pie pumpkin and an ear of ornamental corn to take home
  • Visit Pumpkinville including: Fort Thomas, Tweite’s Castle, Pirate Ship, Trike riding area, No left turn maze, red-green-blue maze, and orange maze
  • Many photo opportunities so, bring a camera.
  • Some of the tour is on your own and you may stay as long as you wish

Every paying student receives a pumpkin and other favors at Tweite's Pumpkin Patch in Byron, only 12 minutes from Rochester, MinnesotaOur 2008 School tour dates for K Thru 2nd Grade are:
September 29, 30 & October 1, 6, 7, & 8*

Tours begin at 8:30 a.m. and are scheduled every 30 minutes, with the last tour beginning at 1:30 p.m.* Minimum of 15 students per group.
Fee: $4 per person Approximate time: 1½-2 hours
Each class will be allowed:

  • 1 teacher/ supervisor per 5 students at no charge
  • Siblings that come will also be charged $4.00
  • All who pay will get a pumpkin and an ear of ornamental corn

*Additional Information for Teachers:

Picnics are a great way to end your school tours and run off energy before boarding the busses... at Tweite's Pumpkin Patch in Byron, only 12 minutes from Rochester, MinnesotaPayment: Payment is due in full upon arrival by one check, or cash all in one envelope, counted and clearly marked. Personal or school checks are acceptable. Checks from parents must be made out to Tweite’s Pumpkin Patch or they will not be accepted.

Timeliness: It’s very important that you are on time. We must keep to a strict schedule: therefore, we ask groups to arrive promptly at the scheduled time. If for some reason your group arrives late, we may have to shorten or omit some activities. If you are late, it causes a chain reaction and affects many more people than just your group. We reserve the right to combine your group with others if group size warrants it.

Weather: Please call if it is raining hard where you are. Sometimes it’s not even raining here. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Picnic: You are welcome to bring a lunch. Picnic tables are available for a picnic lunch and will be on a first come first serve basis. You may also bring blankets to sit on if you wish. No one will be allowed to eat in stage area.
